When a student can’t join a discussion, it’s most likely because of one of the following errors:
- "We can't find this Group or Topic" error: The group or topic may be hidden. For students to join the discussion, educators must change the group or topic status to “Active.”
- "Email or email domain _____ is not allowed to join" error: The group or topic has a setting turned on that restricts who and how students can join.
- "Brand New Group" error: The group doesn't have topics yet. For students to join the discussion, educators must add a topic to the group.
- Student gets "isn't eligible for an account" error: This happens when a student tries accessing a link intended for the educator. If you are joining a group, ask your educator to explore this article to ensure they are sharing the proper link. If you are the educator, explore this article to ensure you are sharing the proper link.
- Note: If you're an educator and repeatedly get this error message, contact our Support team here.
