Flip supports any browser on PCs, Macs, and Chromebooks. You may not be able access all Flip features on all browsers. We recommend you use the latest versions of Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome

Important: If your camera is all black or gets stuck loading, learn how to fix it.

Camera/microphone access tips

  1. Find out if your system is compatible with Flip.
  2. Flip must have permission from your browser to access both your camera and microphone. You can check this setting in your browser or in your device’s privacy settings.
  3. Make sure there aren't any browser extensions interfering with the camera. Open an incognito or private browser window. Then, go to your Flip and open the camera.
  4. Find out your web browser's version and update to the latest version.
  5. Open another browser and try to open the Flip camera again. This helps identify an issue with the browser versus the device itself.
  6. Is Flip embedded into another webpage? If so, go to Flip.com and enter your Join code. Embedded topics can cause Flip camera issues.
  7. Force quit the browser or restart your device and try again. To force quit:
    • On Windows: Alt + F4
    • On Mac: Command + Q
    • On Chromebook: Close all windows.

How to turn on camera/microphone permissions in your browser

  1. Open Flip.
