Add media or attachment links to your topic page

To engage your students, you’re able to add media like a video, gif, or image directly into your topic details. You can also add multiple links to additional documents and resources.

Note: You aren't able to add some types of media on the Flip app.

You can embed one of the following media items and up to 9 link attachments:

  • Import image Image_upload.png: Upload JPEG or PNG image. We recommend an image size of 1600x900 pixels.
  • Record video Camera_web_.png: Add a video with the Flip camera.
  • Add a Bitmoji, GIF, or stickers Smiley.png:  Express yourself or what your topic is about.
  • Upload video Upload_video.png: Create a video with another app and upload it to your topic.
  • Add YouTube or Vimeo YouTube.png: Search or paste any URL already on YouTube or Vimeo. This video shows up on your topic page.
  • Add attachments Link.png: Add up to 9 links with a 30 character description for each link. The links show up on your topic page in their own “Attachments” section.

How to add media

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select the group with the topic you want to update.
  3. Next to the topic you want to update, More More.png > Edit topic Edit_pencil.png.
  4. Under topic media, select the type of media you want to add:
    • Import image Image_upload.png: In the dotted line box, drag and drop or click and select your image file. Then on the ”Crop your photo” screen, click Save changes.
    • Record video Camera_web_.png: In the Flip camera, create your video. Then, on the “Confirm your cover photo” screen, click Submit.
    • Bitmoji, GIF, stickers Smiley.png: Find and select the item you want to add. Then, click Add.
    • Upload video Upload_video.png: In the dotted line box, drag and drop or click and select your video file. Then, on the “Confirm your cover photo” screen, click Submit.
    • Add YouTube or Vimeo YouTube.png: In the "Enter a link or URL" box, enter the URL to the video. Then, click Search > Add.
      • If you want to add a different video, click Find another video.
  5. At the bottom right, click Save changes.

How to remove media

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select the group with the topic you want to update.
  3. Next to the topic you want to update, More More.png > Edit topic Edit_pencil.png.
  4. Under "Topic media," in the trop right of the media, click Remove Delete%2BExit__Circle_X_.png.
  5. At the bottom right, click Save changes.

How to add and remove attachment links

You're able to add up to 9 links to your topic. You can link out to anything online including website articles, documents and PDFs uploaded to online file services, online Microsoft 365 documents, Google docs, and even other Flip videos.

How to add an attachment link

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select the group with the topic you want to update.
  3. Next to the topic you want to update, More More.png > Edit topic Edit_pencil.png.
  4. Under topic media, click Add attachments Link.png.
    1. Under "Link," paste the URL. 
    2. Under "Title," enter a description of 30 characters or fewer.
  5. Click Add.
  6. At the bottom right, click Save changes.

How to remove an attachment link

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select the group with the topic you want to update.
  3. Next to the topic you want to update, More More.png > Edit topic Edit_pencil.png.
  4. Next to the to the attachment link you want to remove, click Remove Delete%2BExit__Circle_X_.png.
  5. At the bottom right, click Save changes.
