Manage student video responses

When you go to a specific topic, you have multiple options to manage both your own and student video responses. There are multiple actions you’re able to take on a single video response.

  • Move: Move responses from one topic to another. The topic you move to can be in the same group or a different group. When you move a response, all of the comments posted to it also move.
  • Delete: When you delete a response, it removes it from that topic only. It also removes any comments posted to that specific response.
  • Download: Download individual responses to your computer.
  • Duplicate: When you duplicate a response, original response stays in its current topic and you create a copy of the same response into another topic in the same or a different group. Only the original response is duplicated and not any of the comments on the response.

Whether a response is “Active” or “Hidden” doesn’t affect the action you take. Learn more about active and hidden responses.

Note: Currently, there’s no way to move or duplicate specific comments on responses. However, you're able to delete or download those comments.

Move or duplicate a video response

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select a group.
  3. Select a topic.
    • In Grid View: At the top right of the video's cover image, Click More.png for more.
    • In Table View: To the right of the video's details, click More.png for more.
  4. Select either Move response or Duplicate response.
  5. In the window, under “Select a group,” click the down arrow Down.png and select a group.
  6. Under "Select a topic," click the down arrow Down.png and select a topic.
  7. Click Move or Duplicate.

Flip automatically takes you to the topic in which you just moved or duplicated the response.

Download or delete a video response

  1. Go to info.flip.com and log in.
  2. At the left, in your groups home, select a group.
  3. Select a topic.
    • To download multiple responses: In Table View : At the top left of the video's table, check or select individual videos 
    • Once the desired responses are selected click the drop down on Actions and click
    • Click Send email
    • Check the email you use to sign in to Flip for the download link. The email may take some time and will get sent out as soon as the file is ready for download.

Important: If you do not receive an email

      • After waiting for a day, you may need to simply retry the 'Request download' step.
      • If you still do not receive the email you may need to work with your IT Admin to allow Flip emails. You can share the allow list here Flip access and network settings.
  1. To download a single response: In Table View: To the right of the video's details, click More.png for more.
  2. Select either Delete_trash.png Delete response or Download_arrow.png Download video.
    • Delete response: In the “Delete response” window, next to “I want to permanently delete this video,” check the box. Then, click Delete.
    • Download video: In the new browser tab that opens, to download the video and cover image, click Download Video.
