Update closed captions on a video

Flip automatically generates closed captions for all new videos. In a topic, closed captions are turned on by default but you can turn them off or change your preferred language. You’re also able to update and edit closed captions for each video in a topic.

Important: You're only able to add or edit closed captions on Flip for web.

How closed captions work

Videos are automatically captioned by Microsoft's Azure services. For best performance, we recommend minimal background noise and clear diction. You can also request new captions from the Azure service, including a different language currently not available on the app.
