You can record an audio focused video with Flip either in video mode or audio mode.
- In video mode, there are certain effects that you can use to hide your device's camera image.
- In audio mode, your device's camera won't even show up on screen. You can still use most of the Flip camera's effects. This option may work differently on web, Android, and iOS.
Note: If you want to create a video with a different app that isn't the Flip camera, you're able to import a video into Flip.
Record your audio focused video
Important: All options and effects may not work across all devices and platforms. Check device requirements and compatibility.
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.
- Choose whether you want to post the video to a topic or post it to your profile.
- To post to a topic: Select the group > the topic where you want to post your video. Then, click .
- To post to your profile: In the top left, click Camera.
- Choose to record in audio mode. At the bottom, next to "Video," select Audio. You'll find a microphone image displayed on screen.
- Choose any other effects you want to use.
- You can also add new effects while you record.
- When you're ready, click .
Note: Audio mode styles let you choose a different full-screen visual that reacts to the audio you record.
- Open the Flip app.
- At the bottom, tap .
- Choose to record in audio mode. At the bottom, next to "Video," swipe left and select Audio. You'll find the default audio mode style, which is a microphone image.

- Audio mode style: At the bottom, next to , tap . Select a style, then in the bottom right tap . To remove the selected style and return to the default style, next to the style name, tap Remove .

- Choose any other effects you want to use.
- You can also add new effects while you record.
- When you're ready, tap .
