You’re able to change the status of your topics at any time. You can also schedule a topic status change for specific dates. You're only able to change the topic status on Flip for web.
There are 3 different topic statuses:
- Active: The topic is open for members to post new videos and comments, depending on the other topic settings.
- View only: The topic can be shared and found, but no new videos or comments can be posted, and members can’t change video details. A “This topic is view only” message shows up on the topic page and a "View only" label shows up next to the topic in your topics list on the group page.
- Hidden: The topic is hidden from everyone except group leads. New members aren’t able to join with the Join code or link. A "Hidden" label shows up next to the topic in your topics list on the group page.
A topic status change can allow you to share your topics with other non-members and help you stay organized in your group.
Important: You're able to change your group status between "Active" and "Archived". Learn how to edit your group settings.

How to schedule a launch or freeze date
You’re able to schedule when you want your topic status to change. This allows you to create a topic before it's active and gives you the opportunity to set the duration of when a topic is active. The default launch date is set to the date you created the topic. The default freeze date isn't set.
- Start date: If you change this to a future date, the current topic status is changed to “Hidden.” The topic status changes to “Active” at 12:01 AM in your time zone for the date you choose. Members aren't able to join the topic until the topic is active. If they try to join, they get a “Coming soon” screen that tells them when the topic will become available.
- End date: The default date isn't set, which means that the topic status remains “Active” unless you change it. If you set a freeze date, the topic status changes to “View only” at 11:59 PM on the date you choose.
