As an educator, you can invite students to your groups. This lets them post videos, audios, and comments to your topics. You can also post your own videos to encourage your students to participate.
Important: If you're a student, you can join Flip with a join method. Learn more about how to use Flip as a student
Step 1: Sign up
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.
- At the top right, click Signup.
- Enter your date of birth, and country or region. Enter this information accurately as it helps us confirm you're an adult. We won't save this information.
- Choose Sign Up with Microsoft, Sign Up with Google, or Sign Up with Apple.
- Important: Verify you have a Microsoft, Google, or Apple account. Even if your email doesn't end with @outlook.com, @gmail.com, or @icloud.com, it may still be associated with Microsoft, Google, or Apple. Learn more about how to find out if your email is associated with Microsoft, Google, or Apple.
- Choose an email.
- Click Create account.
Important: To use Flip, you need iOS 14.5 and up or Android OS 6.0 and up. Learn more about device requirements and compatibility here.
- Download the Flip app for iOS or Android.
- Open the app and tap Sign up.
- Enter your date of birth, and country or region. Enter this information accurately as it helps us confirm you're an adult. We won't save this information.
- Choose Sign up with Microsoft, Sign up with Google, or Sign up with Apple.

- Choose an email.
- To start using Flip, tap Next.
Step 2: Create a group or topic
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.

To create a group:
- At the left, click +Group > Create a group.
- To continue, select a group type. For example, "Elementary."
- Important: You can't edit your group's type after you created it. If you select "University or College," your students will be able to create topics by default. You can always change this topic setting.
- Update your group's details.
- Below "Create group" enter group name.
- Select your group's cover image from the image library or to upload your own, at the top left of the images, click Upload an image .
- At the bottom right, click Create.

To create a topic:
- Next to Topic Copilot, click Add topic.
- Include a title and description.
- Click Create topic.
Important: If your students don't have emails, you can create usernames for them. Learn more about how to add students by username.
- Open the Flip app.

To create a group:
- Next to "Groups," tap Create a group.
- To continue, select a group type. For example, "Classroom."
Important: You can't edit your group's type after you've created it. - Update your group's details.
- Below “Create a group,” follow the on-screen instructions to name your group.
- Select your group's cover image from the image library or to upload your own, at the top left of the images, tap Upload image .
- Tap Done.

To create a topic:
- Next to Topic Copilot, click Add topic.
- Include a title and description.
- Click Create topic.
Step 3: Invite students
Students can join your group with a join code, link, username, or guest password.
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.
- At the left, in your groups home, select a group.
- At the bottom right of the group's cover image, click Share .
- You can:
- Share the link with students: Next to "Invite link," click Copy.
- Share the join code: Under "Invite by link," copy the code after "flip.com/"
- Share the QR code: At the top, click the QR icon > Download.
- To change to "Anyone with the link can join" or "Only people you approve can join," you can toggle between the two options.
- Open the Flip app.
- Select the group you want to share.
- At the top, tap the share icon .
- You can:
- Share the link with students: To share the link through different apps, tap Share.
- Share the join code: Tap the share icon and choose "Copy."
- Share the QR code: At the top, click the QR icon > Download.
- To change to "Anyone with the link can join" or "Only people you approve can join," tap Change.
