Members and leads can add video or text comments to videos posted in a topic. When you add a video or text comment, the member or lead who created the video, will receive a notification. 

Add a video or text comment

Important: If you’re a member and you aren’t able to add video or text comments, make sure your lead has allowed comments.

  1. Open Flip.
  2. Select a group and a topic.
  3. Select the video you want to comment on.
  4. Under the video, select the type of comment you want to add.
    • To add a video comment: Click Record a video comment Camera_web_.png. Then, record a video and click Submit.
    • To add a written comment: In the text box, enter your comment.
  5. Click Send.

    Tip: The option to add a comment to a comment isn't available yet.

Edit a text comment

Note: The option to edit a video comment is currently unavailable. If you want to change a video comment, delete the comment and record a new one.

    1. Open Flip.
    2. Select a group > a topic.
    3. Select the video you commented on and scroll to the comment you want to edit.
    4. Next to your comment, click More More.png > Edit comment Edit_pencil.png.
    5. Edit your comment.
    6. Click Send.

Include a timestamp in your text comment

When you add a text comment to a video, you can include a timestamp to reference in the video. The timestamp automatically becomes a link. Members who have access to your text comment can click on the link and review that timestamp in the video.

To include a timestamp in your text comment:

  1. Open Flip.
  2. Go to the group and topic with the video where you'd like to add a video or text comment.
  3. Select a video.
  4. Under the video, tap Comments Comment.png.
  5. In the text box, enter your text comment.
  6. Type the timestamp you want to reference in the video. For example, "0:11"
  7. Click Send
