To keep Flip safe, students should sign up and join groups with a school email address.
Important: If you're an existing student and can't access your groups anymore, this means you are signed in with a personal account and need to sign in with a school email instead.
Existing students: Sign in with your school email
If you received a message asking if you're a student, that means you tried to sign in with a personal email. To join a group or topic, make sure you sign in with a school email.
Important: Before you sign in with a school email, sign out of the account connected to your personal email.
Step 1: Sign out of your personal email
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.
- At the top right, click your Profile photo bubble .
- Click Sign out.
Step 2: Sign in with your school email
To join a group or topic, use a join option. Your educator can give you up to three join options: a Group join code, a join link, or a Flip QR code.
- Go to info.flip.com and log in.

Use one of the three join options:
- Group join code: Click Group then Join a group and enter the code.
- Join link: Click the link given by your educator.
- Flip QR: After clicking Join a Group, click QR code and use your computer’s camera to scan it. To let Flip use your camera, click Allow.
- To join the group or topic, you can choose a Google or Microsoft email as provided by your school.
- To send videos or comments, click on a topic > Record.
Step 1: Sign out of your personal email
- Open the Flip app.
- At the top right, tap Profile .
- Tap Log out.
- When asked if you want to log out of Flip, tap Confirm.
Step 2: Sign in with your school email
To sign in to Flip and join a group, use a join option given by your educator. There are three types of join options: a Group join code, a join link, or a Flip QR code.
- Open the Flip app.

Use one of the three join options:
- Group join code: In the upper right, Click to the Join a group and enter the code.
- Join link: Tap the link given by your educator and you’ll be directed to the mobile browser. When you try to send videos or comments, you’ll be redirected to the app.
- Flip QR: In the upper right, Click to the Join a group then tap the QR and use your camera to scan it. To let Flip use your camera, tap Allow.
- To join the group or topic, you can choose a Google or Microsoft email as provided by your school.

To send videos or comments, either select the "record button" next to the topic or tap on the topic and at the bottom tap to record.
- Important: If you can’t access, make sure your educator has added you to their group or topic.
New students: Sign up with your school email
- Go to info.flip.com
- At the top right, click Signup.
- Choose Sign in with a different email.
- Include your school email address.
- To start using Flip, include your birthdate and country or region.
Download or delete your previously posted videos
- If you have access to info.flip.com: You can always download or delete your videos.
- If you no longer have access to info.flip.com with your personal email: You can download or delete them with your educator. If you still need help, reach out to support.
Important: When you delete your Flip videos, all videos you've posted to groups and My Videos are permanently deleted.
How to download your videos

On a browser, go to info.flip.com.
- Tip: Make sure you’re logged in to the account you used to create your videos.
- At the top right, click your Profile photo bubble .
- Click Download All Data > Request Download.

In your email, you’ll get a link with all your videos and other data.
- Important: This can take some time.
How to reach out to support
- Go to our Contact us form.
- Include your first name, last name, and email address.
- Include a subject line. For example, "Delete Flip videos" or "Download your previously posted videos."
- Under "What can we help with?" select Other.
- Describe more details about why you'd like to delete your account data.
- Optional: Attach any files associated to your request.
- Select Submit.
