Educators: If your student can't access Flip, confirm they're using a school email address

When your students use Flip at school, they should use a school email address to have the full Flip experience.  

If your students are using personal email addresses for your groups, they’ll receive a message to let them know they need a school email address. To let your students keep participating, add them with a school email address. You can always help them download their previously submitted content. 

Download content for your students 

  1. Go to 
  2. At the top, click Groups Groups.png. 
  3. Select a group. 
  4. Above your titles, click Members Members.png. 
  5. To find all videos submitted by a student, you can either: 
      • On the left, under "Name," click their name.
      • On the right, under "Videos," click the link.

      6. To select all videos, at the very top left, click the checkbox. An “Actions” option will appear. 

      7. Next to “Actions,” click the Down arrow Down.png.

      8. Click Download Videos


Update your group permissions 

Check that your students have all been invited to your group with a school email address. Under “Manage members,” remove any non-school email addresses and add students with their school email address under the “Email or domain” or “Google Classroom” options. 

Invite students with a school email address 

  1. Go to 
  2. Select a group. 
  3. On the upper right, click More More.png > Edit Group Edit_pencil.png. 
  4. Scroll to “Manage members.” 
  5. Add your student’s school email address: 
    • Email or domain: Add a school email address. 
    • Google Classroom: Go to, and add your student to your classes with a school email address.
  6. Select the group you want to just set up.
  7. To share with a link, QR code, or other applications, click Share Share.png.
