Some members can become leads and create groups. To find out if you’re eligible, take a few steps on web or the Flip app.
Important: If you already have a Flip account, to confirm your eligibility, use the email associated with your existing member account. For example, if you originally used Flip with a school email, use that email.
If you're an existing member
- Go to info.flip.com.
- At the top right, click Log in.
- After you’re logged in, at the left, click + Group.
- You get a the option to either “Create a group” or “Join a group.”
- Click Create a group.
- In the “You might be eligible for more features” message, click Continue.
- Tip: If you want check your eligibility to create groups at another time, close the window. You can click the “Create a group” option at any other time.
- Complete the steps for "Confirm your date of birth."
- Click Next.
- Review your options:
If you're eligible

You will be redirected to create a group
- If you want to become a lead at another time: Click Cancel.
- If you want to lead a group: Follow the steps to create a group.

You will get the pop-up message “Create groups with your personal email”
- If you want to become a lead, click Create a new account.
- If you want to come back to this option later, click Go back.
- Sign in with a personal email address associated with Google or Microsoft.
- In the "Signing out" message:
- To create a group with your lead account: Click Continue. This lets you sign in with your new personal email.
- To go back to your member account: Click Cancel.
- If you want to become a lead, click Create a new account.
If you're not eligible

Important: Although you're not able to create groups yet, you might become eligible in the future.
- To continue to join groups and create videos: Click Go to profile.
You get the pop-up message “You’re using a [domain name] email address. Go to your profile to see your videos or join a group”
- To continue to join groups and create videos: Click Go to profile.

On the app
- Open the Flip app.
- At the top right, tap
.
- You get a new option to either "Create a group" or "Join a group."
- Tap Create a group.
- In the “You might be eligible for more features” message, tap Continue.
- Tip: If you want check your eligibility to create groups at another time, close the window. You can click and select “Create a group” at any other time.

- Complete the steps for "Confirm your date of birth."
- Tap Next.
- Review your options:
If you're eligible

If you're not eligible

You get the pop-up message “You can join a group”Important: Although you're not able to create groups yet, you might become eligible in the future.
- To continue to join groups and create videos: Tap Go to profile.

If you're a new user
- Go to info.flip.com.
- At the top right, click Sign up.
- Complete the steps for "Confirm your date of birth."
- Click Next.
- At the top right, click +Group.
- Review your options:
- If you're eligible: You have the option to either “Create a group” or “Join a group” with a lead account. Learn how to get started as a lead.
- If you're not eligible: You only have the option to “Join a group” with a member account. Learn how to get started as a member.
On the App
- Open the Flip app.
- At the bottom, tap Sign up.
- Sign up with a Microsoft or Google email. Find out if your email is associated to Microsoft or Google.
- Complete the steps for "Confirm your date of birth."
- Tap Submit.
- At the top right, tap .
- Review your options:
- If you’re eligible: You find the option to either “Create a group” or “Join a group.”
- If you’re not eligible: You only find the option to “Join a group.”
